Can You Block Private Browsing for Kids?
Short answer: You may be able to limit private browsing through device restrictions, but you should also use router filtering and app install controls.
Why this matters
Private browsing doesn't make the internet safer. It mainly hides local history. If a child can use another browser or install one, the rule may not hold.
What to do first
- Restrict web content on the device.
- Disable or limit extra browsers.
- Block app installs without approval.
- Use router-level adult content filtering.
- Check history/reporting options that still work.
Common mistakes parents make
- Thinking private mode is the only problem.
- Leaving other browsers installed.
- Not controlling new installs.
